Understanding Climate Change Handbook
A comprehensive handbook to support and stimulate teachers and students to research together in a project-based learning format what the climate crisis is and what steps are needed to minimize its effects.
The handbook features a series of lessons, complete with detailed instructions and student worksheets, designed to enhance their understanding of various aspects of the vast subject of climate change and ways to mitigate the detrimental impact of human activities.
The materials and exercises are for grade levels 5-12 and aim to "support students to better understand the challenges related to climate change and provoke them to seek and propose solutions to environmental problems in their communities."
The handbook can be a fantastic resource for any climate educator interested to engage their students in making sense of the climate crisis and thinking about solutions. Some of the exercises and examples are context-specific. However, the structure, methodology, and many of the lessons in the handbook are very useful across contexts.
